Terry Flanagan owns and operates one of Sydney's leading motor body repair shops and towing services which he began 35 years ago. His trade qualifications include panel beating, spray painting, motor mechanic, welding, fitter and machinist toolmaker.

It is not surprising Terry has been the longest serving councilor on the Body Repair Section of the Motor Traders Association of NSW where he has given his time and industry knowledge for over 30 years. He has personally done the research and development to set the standards for panel and paint time allowances for the body repair industry in Australia, now known as the "MTA Times Manual".

Auto-Quote was launched by Terry and his staff in Vancouver, Canada in 1985 where he also represented Australia at a world trade conference. His Auto-Quote seminars have taken him worldwide where his client base keeps in constant contact. Auto-Quote users can be found in Australia, United States, Canada, United Kingdom, New Zealand, New Guinea & United Arab Emirates in both the repair and insurance industry.

Terry was the first non-American ever inducted into the "Hall of Eagles", a hall of fame in the USA for the collision repair industry. He has been recognised by his peers for his lifelong research and development for the benefit of the repair industry worldwide.

Running a busy repair shop prompted the need to computerise. With nothing on the market and being very early days in the computer industry Terry set about designing his own program. Before long Auto-Quote had become a household name and changed the face of the motor repair industry.

Using Terry's unique shorthand pneumonic coding for panel beaters to describe accident damage, his codes have been adopted by the repair industry. Other systems soon changed from numbers to his unique coding.

Auto-Quote can boast they still have their original research and development team with their staff experience being drawn from the repair and insurance industry.

The Auto-Quote program has gone from strength to strength from its original conception with the head office onsite with T.R. Flanagan Smash Repairs and St George Towing Service. These entities combine to create real conditions for research and development.

The state of the art training room is equipped with full audio and visual technology. All students attending the classes enjoy the benefits of their own personal computer. Our head office is a well-known drop off point for Auto-Quote users, vehicle manufacturers, insurance assessors, equipment suppliers, Tafe students and school excursions and many on overseas visits.
